Back Nine
Hole #10
Par 4
350-yard straight-but-sneaky par-4 hole. Hit it twice or three times to the green, two or one putt and walk away happy! Birdies do win skins!
Hole #11
Par 4
Long par-4, dogleg right, from the whites. Some golfers think it's easier from the blues. Reds get a fair advantage. Once you get to the green always stay below the hole! That allows putting up hill.
Hole #12
Par 4
Four strokes to par this hole. Curves and slope runs to the right. Don't hit the drive into the woods, nothing but Jail! Great colors in the Fall. Big hitters can try to drive the green. The rest of us hit driver or 3 wood and approach iron. Putt out ready to enjoy refreshments served by a member of our fine clubhouse staff.
Hole #13
Par 3
Of the four, par-3 holes, this hole is birdied most often. The flattest green on the course, it offers a great skin opportunity. Two bunkers on either side guard the green. There's also a false fronted bunker placed on the left-front of the green. While a well-struck ball won't come near it, it does offer a confusing visual.
Hole #14
Par 5
This short par-5 starts Tecumseh's version of “Amen Corner.” With out-of-bounds all the way down the left side, and bunkers and trees down the right, you're offered a great risk/reward. During the summer the rows of 80-foot oak trees and sprinkling of cherry trees have overhanging limbs just waiting for your shot to fly a little too high. Shot creativity is at a premium. If you stay clean you have a great birdie or par chance. However, any errant shot and you can be looking at bogie or worse. This hole often begins the separation of the herd!
Hole #15
Par 3
This is a great, but very challenging little par-3. Only 142 yards from the white tees, this elevated and bunkered green is tough to hit. Keep it on the green and you've got a birdie chance. If not, its imperative to get your next shot close, because the green has a lot of deceiving breaks. Watch for swirling winds on this hole.
Hole #16
Par 5
Finishing the TCC “Amen Corner” is another risk/reward 489-yard par-5. Big hitters can set up for an eagle opportunity with a big drive. However, there's a lot of trouble left and right, with Sycamore trees and odd terrain changes to deal with. Shorter hitters can still make birdie with three well-placed shots. This hole offers all kinds of shot selections as one would expect our number two-handicap hole to offer. But at all costs, keep the ball below the hole here — this is a wickedly fast green! Should you play too aggressively, a sure three-putt looms!
Hole #17
Par 4
While TCC's 17th hole is only 364 yards from tee to green with a slight dogleg left approach, it's all uphill. So it plays more like 400 yards. With out of bounds on the left all the way down, and guarded by a huge willow tree left, this hole requires a strategically-struck tee shot. The green is well guarded with bunkers left and right. An aggressive second shot can set you up for a potential birdie – which will normally yield you a skin! Watch the general terrain here, it will help you read the breaks on the green.
Hole #18
Par 4
A dogleg right that can be played many ways. However in keeping with the tradition of Tecumseh Country Club – the axiom holds true: Keep the ball below the hole! It can't be said enough here. It's not that long of a hole (337 yards), but a bogie is staring you in the face if your ball gets above the hole. There isn't a flat spot on this green!!
